About the Position

POSITION INFO:

Key Performance Areas

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Identify, prospect and secure new business through cold calling, canvassing, referrals and industry networking.
• Achieve assigned sales, growth, market share and profitability targets.
• Analyse customer requirements and recommend appropriate products, services and solutions.
• Prepare and submit quotations, tenders, proposals and sales contracts accurately and timeously.
• Conduct product presentations, demonstrations and provide technical product support.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and service agreements within approved parameters.
• Ensure high levels of customer service, prompt resolution of customer queries and effective follow-through on commitments.
• Identify opportunities to convert competitor accounts and grow market share within the assigned territory.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales pipelines, call reports and other required documentation.
• Manage sales opportunities from initial contact through to order processing, delivery and after-sales support.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to identify new opportunities.
• Ensure sound commercial management of sales, including margins, pricing, discounts, invoicing and profitability.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure all relevant administrative and contractual requirements are completed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support customer requirements and achieve business objectives.
• Prepare and present sales forecasts, activity reports and other reports as required.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve sales processes, customer solutions and operational efficiency.
• Ensure effective territory coverage and maintain strategic relationships with key customers.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years' proven sales experience in the materials handling, industrial equipment or related industry.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving sales and new business development targets.
• Valid Code 8 driver's licence.
• Experience with ERP or business management systems advantageous.
