Content manager - Digital

Lookng for a creatve, interestng role?

We have an opportunty for a content specialist to manage a team, create content plans & content and manage outputs, supported by a team of digital content creators.

The ideal candidate has thorough knowledge of website content publishing and social media platforms and strategies, as welll as being familiar with local  mainstream TV

The position requires min 3 years in content or project management, and relevant tertiary education (degree in Journalism, Digital Communications, and / or Project Management) 

Candidate should be prepared to work flexible hours, after 17:00 and weekends when relevant

Responsibilities include:

• Handling briefs with a focus on local interest 
• Managing delivery against channel or client requirements for digital projects and campaigns
• Representing or leading in channel meetings, taking minutes and updating managers as required
• Creating digital campaign or show proposals
• Creating project plans and content schedules 
• Project implementation with the team on projects 
• Creating reports on performance of key digital metrics for the channel and original productions, according to deadlines
• Continuously optimising and improving workflow of the content teams
• Track and report on SLA requirements
• Quality management of publishing and deliverables
• Taking initiative to advance project and team requirements, including suggesting areas in workflow that can be improved
• Managers to be updated regularly on activities, including progress, meeting notes, weekly status updates and business requirements

 Requrements: 

• Experienced as a professional digital writer, publishing in English - other African languages an advantage
• Experienced in content management
• Needs to be fully computer literate (experience with Apple Mac), and have excellent MS Office software skills (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint presentations, Google sheets)
• Have a good understanding and experience with cross-platform digital trends and technology, with an understanding of what works well on each platform for various campaigns
• Have a thorough understanding of online and social media platforms, publishing, and publishing tools in a professional environment (i.e. Websites, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Blogs, TikTok, etc)
• Previously worked on content strategy for digital campaigns
• Should have experience creating digital content plans and schedules
