SUMMARY:
An intimate, high-end safari lodge is seeking a hands-on ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT COUPLE to support the day-to-day operations while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

POSITION INFO:
This luxury safari lodge in the Greater Kruger offers a highly personalised Big Five experience with a strong focus on exceptional hospitality. The ideal couple will bring a balance of strong front-of-house management and professional guiding expertise, with a shared passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and working in a remote bush environment.

Role 1: Front of House / Assistant Manager

Candidate Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and train front-of-house staff
Oversee central store stock takes and ordering in collaboration with the kitchen team
Deliver exceptional guest hosting from arrival through to departure
Oversee room checks, camp readiness, and guest touches
Handle guest accounts, payments, petty cash, and gratuities
Manage orders and stock control administration
Conduct weekly town trips when required
Coordinate special guest experiences (sundowners, bush breakfasts, etc.)

Core Criteria:

Proven experience in a 4 or 5-star lodge environment (front-of-house essential)
Strong administrative, organisational, and planning skills
Confident in guest hosting and delivering service excellence
Ability to manage and lead staff with a hands-on approach
High attention to detail with a flair for guest experience and presentation

Role 2: Guide / Assistant Manager (Trails Preferred)

Candidate Responsibilities:

Conduct two game drives per day (on rotation)
Deliver exceptional interpretive guiding and guest engagement
Assist with lodge maintenance and overall property upkeep
Support staff management and training
Assist with lodge operations and step into management when required
Participate in guest hosting and overall camp operations
Assist with lodge administration and operational oversight
Contribute to social media content
Conduct weekly town trips when required

Core Criteria:

Previous experience in a 4 or 5-star lodge environment
Strong guiding background (Trails Guide preferred)
FGASA Level 1 or equivalent NQF2 (including unit standards 8440 & 8478)
FGASA Trails Guide (Apprentice/Lead) or VPDA
FGASA Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH)
First Aid Level 1
Valid PrDP

This is a live in position with WiFi and Provident Fund provided.
