TRAFFIC MANAGER

POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking for an experienced Traffic Manager to join their Operations team. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with strong transport operations experience, leadership skills, and the ability to manage large-scale daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Tertiary qualification in Road Transport Management or a related field.
• Computer literacy (MS Office).
• Minimum of 5 years'' experience supervising the operations of a large transport company.
• Experience handling Industrial Relations (IR) matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all traffic, departmental and operational functions.
• Monitor operational service delivery through audits.
• Coordinate communication across departments.
• Liaise with stakeholders and relevant external bodies.
• Analyse daily traffic operational statistics.
• Ensure operational changes are implemented effectively.
• Conduct continuous market research.
• Monitor and manage departmental budgets.
• Control material resources efficiently.
• Supervise and manage staff performance.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of the passenger transport industry.
• Understanding of transport legislation and Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
• Knowledge of traffic management and transport operations.
• Budget management knowledge.
• Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
• Leadership and people management experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Computer literacy.
