POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking an experienced and technically skilled IT Systems Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining and supporting the organisation''s IT infrastructure, ensuring that all systems remain secure, reliable and fully operational.

This role requires a hands-on individual with strong technical knowledge of servers, networks, virtualisation, backups and cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and optimise servers, storage and network infrastructure.
• Manage firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs and cloud-based resources.
• Monitor IT systems proactively and perform regular updates, troubleshooting and patch management.
• Manage backup processes, disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls and respond to security incidents.
• Provide escalation support for complex infrastructure and technical issues.
• Manage user access, account provisioning and onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Ensure the IT environment remains secure, reliable and operational.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across infrastructure and systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide relevant reporting.

Minimum Requirements

• National Senior Certificate / NQF Level 4 or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years'' IT experience.
• At least 3 years'' proven experience as a Systems Administrator.
• MCSA and CCNA certifications.
• VMware and Veeam certifications.
• Strong experience managing servers, virtualisation environments, backups, networks and related IT infrastructure.
