POSITION INFO:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor, maintain, and optimise on-premises servers, storage, and network infrastructure so that everything stays available, fast, and aligned with business needs.
• Manage network components (firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs) and cloud resources, with a strong focus on security and compliance.
• Run proactive patch management, updates, and troubleshooting to prevent issues before they impact the business.
• Own backup, disaster recovery, and restore processes — including regular testing — to protect critical data and meet business continuity and regulatory requirements.
• Apply cybersecurity controls, with vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents in line with our established procedures and timelines.
• Act as the key escalation point above Tier 1 support for complex infrastructure issues and manage secure user access, account provisioning, and onboarding/offboarding processes.

REQUIREMENTS

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF 4.
• 5 years of experience in an IT environment, of which minimum 3 years as Systems Administrator.
• MCSA and CCNA Certification.
• VMware and VEEAM Certification.
• Extensive server, virtualisation, backups and network experience.
• Valid RSA Driver’s License with own transport.
