Role Description:

The Senior Site Manager will oversee daily drilling site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in line with project specifications. This full-time, on-site role in includes supervising site teams, coordinating equipment and materials, and monitoring adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards. The Senior Site Manager will liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to communicate progress, manage issues, and support effective decision-making. Responsibilities include planning and allocating resources, reviewing operational reports, maintaining documentation and compliance records, and mentoring team members to promote high performance and continuous improvement. The role also requires proactive risk identification and implementation of corrective actions to support smooth and efficient site execution.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing underground drilling or similar industrial site operations, including supervision of multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations applicable to drilling, mining, or construction environments.
• Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, with the ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Knowledge of drilling or underground coal mining machinery.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including clear reporting and coordination with clients and contractors.
• Proven ability to identify operational risks, troubleshoot technical and logistical issues, and implement practical solutions.
• Experience maintaining accurate operational records, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
• Leadership skills with a track record of coaching and developing site personnel and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
• Beneficial qualifications: Diploma or degree in engineering, geology, mining, construction management, or related field; prior experience in South African drilling or underground coal mining operations; familiarity with Excel and Word.
• Must reside in the Secunda, Witbank, Standerton area.
