Job Description:

The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Evander, responsible for overseeing day-to-day drilling and support operations. This role includes planning and coordinating work schedules, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Operations Manager will supervise on-site teams, manage resource allocation, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain efficient operations and resolve issues promptly. Key responsibilities also include optimizing processes, tracking performance metrics, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the operation. Contract Management, Client Liaison, Management of Drilling Teams and Marketing Management. 

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in operations management, preferably in drilling, underground coal mining, geology, or related industrial environments.
• Strong skills in planning, scheduling, and resource coordination to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
• Knowledge of workplace safety regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements in an on-site operational setting.
• Proficiency in using operational and reporting tools (MS Office).
• Effective leadership, team supervision, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with staff, management, and external partners.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience with performance tracking and process improvement.
• Relevant vocational training or a diploma/degree in operations management, engineering, business, or a related field is beneficial.
• Previous on-site or field-based experience and a strong commitment to safety and reliable operational execution.
