SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk who is currently in their 1st or 2nd year of a BCom Accounting degree and eager to pursue their SAIPA articles. This role is ideal for a young professional looking to gain hands-on exposure in a professional accounting environment while completing their undergraduate studies.

POSITION INFO:

Assist with monthly bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
Processing invoices, receipts, and payments
Prepare and maintain general ledgers
Assist with VAT, EMP, and tax submissions under supervision
Support in the preparation of management accounts and annual financial statements
Reconciliation of bank statements, debtors, and creditors
Filing, data capturing, and maintaining accurate financial records
Liaise with clients professionally and efficiently
Perform ad-hoc administrative and accounting duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Currently enrolled in BCom Accounting (1st or 2nd year)
Intention to pursue SAIPA articles
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Good communication skills (verbal & written)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong willingness to learn and grow within the firm

Advantageous Skills/Experience

Prior exposure to accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Draftworx)
Previous work experience in an accounting or admin role
Own transport and valid driver’s licence
