WE’RE HIRING: RESEARCH TECHNICIAN 

Location: Potchefstroom
Salary: R25 000 – R30 000 CTC
Benefits: Provident Fund & Company Vehicle
Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (Monday – Friday)
Position Type: Permanent

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Research Technician to join their agricultural research team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for crop research, data collection, and fieldwork, who enjoys both practical and technical tasks within the agricultural industry. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Agricultural Degree or related qualification
- 2–5 years relevant experience
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel
- Valid driver’s license (non-negotiable)
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (read, write & speak)
- Strong planning, organisational & communication skills
- Self-motivated, punctual and trustworthy
- Willingness to travel and work overtime during peak seasons when required

- Practical and technical mindset
- Research-driven and results-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong observational and analytical skills

COMPUTER SKILLS

- Good administrative skills and computer literacy required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plan and outline statistical trials for Sunflower, Soyabean, Sorghum and Maize
- Plant, monitor and harvest trials according to company protocols
- Collect, manage and maintain accurate research data
- Assist with research and marketing trial activities
- Support farmer days and demonstration plantings
- Ensure accuracy and quality of all collected data
- Assist Marketing Managers during planting and harvesting seasons
