SUMMARY:
A company is seeking an experienced National Shipping Manager to oversee end-to-end international sea freight operations, ensuring efficient shipment movement, customs compliance, cost control, and on-time delivery across South African ports. The ideal candidate should be based in Cape Town, Durban, or Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Maritime Studies (advantageous)
8–10 years’ experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management
Strong knowledge of international shipping, sea freight, and import processes
Understanding of South African customs regulations and port operations
Experience negotiating with shipping lines and logistics providers
Knowledge of Durban and Cape Town port operations
Experience with Ship Shape (advantageous)
Strong financial, reporting, and reconciliation skills
Leadership and team management experience
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple shipments in a high-pressure environment
