Job Title: Junior Payroll Administrator / Trainee Payroll Administrator

Location: Steeledale, Johannesburg South

Basic Salary: Negotiable from R9K to R12K per month (depending on experience and qualifications)

Your Role

This is a great entry-level opportunity to grow your practical payroll skills in a dynamic business. You will work alongside supportive professionals who will guide you step by step. You will learn how to run timekeeping systems, process monthly salaries, and manage leave correctly. It is the perfect step to gain valuable experience and build a strong long-term career.

Job Description

Capture and update daily employee clocking times using the biometric system.
Record annual, sick, and family leave requests accurately on the payroll system.
Assist with preparing monthly salaries and wages on time.
Help reconcile monthly statutory returns like PAYE, UIF, and SDL.
Prepare payslips and distribute them to staff members every month.
Keep clean, up-to-date physical and electronic employee files.
Help answer basic staff pay or leave questions in a friendly manner.
Use Microsoft Excel to compile simple monthly attendance and payroll spreadsheets.

What You Need to Apply

Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
Basic understanding or practical exposure to Sage Payroll software is a strong plus.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Basic understanding of clock-in systems, leave processing, or wage calculations.
High attention to detail and good numerical skills.
Positive attitude, eager to learn, and strong work ethic.
