An established and fast-growing professional services firm is looking for a Junior Financial Accountant to join its collaborative finance team. Working with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries, this opportunity offers broad exposure to commercial finance while allowing you to develop your technical accounting skills in a dynamic consulting environment.

This is far more than a traditional accounting role. You'll gain hands-on experience across the full accounting function, working closely with experienced finance professionals who partner with businesses to improve financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting

Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights
Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements

Full Function Accounting

Perform general ledger reconciliations
Process journals and maintain accurate accounting records
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

Payroll & Compliance

Process and reconcile payroll accurately and timeously
Assist with tax submissions and statutory compliance
Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Qualifications:

BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Experience:

1-2 years' accounting experience advantageous
Exposure to the full accounting function preferred
Experience within an accounting firm or professional services environment advantageous

Skills & Competencies:

Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable working with technology and new systems
Positive, energetic, and proactive attitude
A collaborative team player with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally
