SUMMARY:
A well-established company within the FMCG Retail industry, based in the Centurion area, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join their finance team on a 3-month fixed term contract basis with the possibility to go permanent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or a related field who is looking to gain practical experience and develop their career within a fast-paced commercial environment.

The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration, with particular focus on debtors, creditors, reconciliations and general finance support.

POSITION INFO:
Position overview:
The Finance Clerk is responsible for providing day-to-day transactional bookkeeping and
administrative support for allocated stores. The primary focus is high-volume data entry, daily cash-up verifications, standard third-party delivery reconciliations (Mr Delivery & Uber Eats), and basic accounts payable/receivable processing on Sage Evolution.

Requirements:

Minimum Education & Qualifications

Grade 12 (Matric) with Account or Mathematics
Tertiary Qualification: Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Financial

Experience & Track Record

No previous experience is required however it would be Core Competencies:
Extreme attention to detail and high numerical
Ability to meet tight routine deadlines in a fast-paced
Clear communication skills for handling store and supplier

Responsibilities:

Daily Cash-Ups & Point of Sale (POS) Verification:

Capture daily store cash-ups onto master accounting sheets via Google Drive shop
Verify physical paperwork against declared cash-
Process credit card slips into bank modules or spreadsheet
Perform transactional bank reconciliations and immediately flag/escalate cash

Third-Party & Online Sales Processing:

Download weekly sales history reports from vendor portals (Mr Delivery & Uber Eats).
Reconcile portal sales against store declarations and incoming remittances twice

Accounts Receivable & Payable Support:

Track and monitor store cash collections to ensure timely banking within corporate
Match and check supplier invoices against statements, resolve administrative queries, and process Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs).

Routine Financial Administration & Filing:

Update cashbooks 2–3 times per
Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system for daily cash-ups, invoices, bank statements, VAT submission reports, and month-end packs for audit
