SUMMARY:
Are you an experienced Debtors Clerk ready to take ownership of the full debtors function?

POSITION INFO:
A well-established organisation based in Centurion is seeking a skilled and experienced Debtors Clerk to join their finance team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in Debtors / Credit Control, with solid experience managing the full debtors function. You should be confident handling collections, reconciliations, customer queries and outstanding accounts, while maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain accurate customer accounts.
Capture and allocate customer payments accurately.
Perform regular debtor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
Contact customers regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
Issue statements, reminders and payment requests.
Respond to and resolve customer queries relating to invoices, payments and account balances.
Investigate and resolve disputed invoices.
Prepare and monitor Debtors Age Analysis
Track collections and report on overdue and outstanding balances.
Monitor customer credit limits and agreed payment terms.
Assist with credit applications and customer account reviews.
Reconcile the Debtors Control Account.
Assist with month-end accounts receivable processes.
Ensure invoices and payments are accurately processed before month-end.
Maintain complete and up-to-date debtor records and supporting documentation.
Provide support to the Finance Department with audits and general accounting duties.

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Matric / Grade 12.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Debtors / Credit Control.
Proven experience managing the full debtors function.
Strong collections and credit control experience.
Excellent reconciliation and numerical skills.
Good working knowledge of Sage / Pastel.
Good Microsoft Excel skills.
Basic understanding of VAT and accounting principles.
