SUMMARY:
A gorgeous safari lodge in the Sabi Sands is looking for an experienced ASSISTANT LODGE MANAGER to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
This role suits an all-rounder who moves comfortably between departments and thrives on hands-on leadership. It is intentionally open to candidates from a range of backgrounds: attitude, work ethic, and genuine leadership ability matter more here than a specific job title.

Core Criteria:

Comprehensive, hands-on understanding of luxury lodge operations
Strong Food & Beverage background essential, with the ability to elevate the dining experience
Comfortable relieving and supporting department heads across Front Office, Guest Relations, F&B, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Procurement, and Venues/Events
Confident making independent operational decisions
Natural leader able to mentor, develop, and motivate staff
Highly organised with strong administrative skills
Exceptional guest-facing communication and hosting ability
Adaptable, proactive, and genuinely eager to learn and grow
HR and Occupational Health & Safety knowledge highly beneficial
Demonstrated longevity and commitment in previous roles

Core Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and operational support across all lodge departments
Relieve departmental heads during off-cycles, maintaining consistent standards
Drive and enhance the food and beverage offering
Work alongside the General Manager to refine systems and improve operating standards
Support staff training, development, and day-to-day mentorship
Oversee guest hosting and identify opportunities to elevate service
Contribute to HR, compliance, and workplace safety initiatives where needed
Help position the lodge among the leading safari experiences in the region

Package:

Salary: negotiable, dependent on experience
Live-in position, accommodation and meals provided
Uniform provided
3 weeks on / 1 week off work cycle
