Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business, renewals, and policy amendments in line with underwriting guidelines
• Assess and analyse risk information to determine appropriate pricing, terms, and conditions
• Make underwriting decisions within delegated authority levels
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and insurer standards
• Liaise with brokers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation
• Contribute to portfolio profitability and risk management objectives

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field
• 2–3 years’ underwriting experience within the insurance industry
• Exposure to commercial or short-term insurance underwriting (advantageous)
• Professional insurance qualifications (e.g. IISA or equivalent) will be beneficial
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
• Sound understanding of underwriting principles and legislation
• Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
