POSITION INFO:

Team Leader (Mechanical/cnc Precision Engineering) - Maitland - R38 000 per month CTC

Precision Engineering Company seeks a Team Leader with minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in the Mechanical industry, from a Fitter & Turner background and solid exp in Solid Edge and Edge Cam.

Formal schooling / degree:

Trade: Fitter & Turner

Solid Edge and Edge Cam.

KPI’s:

• Quality Scrap rates and Rework are below the set targets.
• Output targets are achieving as per the production plan.
• Attendance targets are met.
• Safety – Zero lost time incidents.

Skills Matrix is updated every 6 months.

Skills:

• Knowledge and understanding of product manufactured and technologies employed.
• Knowledge of company ERP system and other company systems.
• Knowledge of company system and procedures.
• Knowledge of the Labour act, OHSA and or any other regulatory acts which may affect the company.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Advanced, Word, and MS Project).
• Drafting and design skills.
• Knowledge on Solid Edge and Edge Cam.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in the Mechanical industry
• To monitor production rates and take the appropriate intervention when output does not meet set targets.
• Ensure that production processes are operating as per specified requirements.
• To monitor production quality in accordance with Procedures and Work instructions and institute the necessary intervention to achieve the required quality.
• To ensure that employees comply with safety instructions and regulations and correct any unsafe conditions.
• To stop production in the event of sub – standard quality or unsafe conditions and report the situation to your Supervisor.
• To ensure that agreed standard of housekeeping is maintained.
• To report any problems inhibiting productivity, quality, and safety, which are beyond your control to your Supervisor.
• To place sub-standard quality production products on hold and report to your Superior.
• To report any employees misconduct to HR and your Supervisor and to take necessary corrective action as per the company disciplinary code.
• To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as aligned with your role, and as instructed by your Supervisor.
• To undergo any training as identified and deemed necessary to fulfill the above position.
• Liaise with supportive departments as required to resolve any problems in your area.
• Optimization of CNC programs to and to ensure best practice is followed.
• Training and development of team members as per the skills matrix plan.
• Developing and updating of SOP’s.
• Ensure relevant management process such as daily employee timesheets, production and quality visual board, scrap report etc. are followed.
