Senior Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
A well-established company is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to manage the full finance function. This role suits a detail-oriented professional with strong technical skills, including reconciliations, foreign exchange, payroll, and multi-currency accounting. You’ll be a key support to the business, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and smooth financial operations in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
Maintain accurate day-to-day financial records across GL, AP, AR and fixed assets
Perform complex balance sheet, bank, petty cash, FX and inter-company reconciliations
Manage foreign exchange processing, supplier payments and forward exchange contracts (FECs)
Ensure accurate monthly pricing updates, account corrections and customer receipts allocation
Process online banking transactions, cashbooks and payment runs
Run the full monthly payroll cycle for ±140 employees using Sage Payroll
Manage PAYE, UIF and SDL returns and submissions
Prepare and submit mid-year and annual payroll tax returns (IRP5s) via eFiling/EasyFile
Produce and maintain detailed financial and statistical spreadsheets for reporting and audits
Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation for annual external audits
Maintain data integrity within the financial system, ensuring all periods are accurately closed
Ensure compliance with tax legislation, statutory requirements and internal controls

Skills & Experience:
10+ years experience in a Senior Bookkeeping role
Manufacturing or related industry experience – NON-NEGOTIABLE
Syspro & Sage Payroll Experience – NON-NEGOTIABLE
Advanced Excel proficiency

Qualification:
Certificate in Bookkeeping
OR
Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Finance or Accounting
