Senior Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Senior Bookkeeper needed to join a dynamic busy medium sized company in the CBD of Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:

This is an office-based position for a senior bookkeeper to assist a medium sized company with full Bookkeeping functions. You will report directly to the MD and ideal for a hands-on Bookkeeper who is a self-starter,  adding value to the role and young dynamic team. 

Requirements:

• Matric with Bookkeeping/Accounts qualification
• Ability to work in the city centre of Cape Town, Monday to Friday
• Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience within a senior bookkeeping/accounts role
• Pastel Partner accounting & payroll system experience
• Ability to take ownership and get things done on time for audits
• Self-starter with excellent time management skills

Duties:

• Full Bookkeeping experience of taking books to Trial Balance
• Maintain good working relationships with mainly non-financial colleagues
• Preparation of Monthly management accounts (Trial balance, Income statements)
• Meeting monthly deadlines
• Analyise variances report
• Budgeting and cash flow forecasting
• Process Sales invoicing on a daily basis
• Follow up on outstanding debtors
• Processing of all suppliers invoicing daily & reconciliations monthly
• REconcile Bank & petty cash accounts monthly
• Check commission input sheet and month end payrolls +/- 50 employees
• Prepare TAX ( VAT, PAYE) for payment and complete tax return - monthly
• Managing and liaising with company auditors
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products - Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
• Experience with a Pastel Partner accounting and payroll system
• Compiling accounts for year-end audit
• Provide financial ad hoc support to an independent department
• General bookkeeping assistance
• Ability to manage one junior staff member
