Research & Development Manager

Our Client is a dynamic, aquaculture company based in Thailand.  Due to their exponential growth they currently have a position available for an excellence-driven, competent Research & Development Manager to be based in Khanom, Thailand.

Khanom, on the Southeastern coast of Thailand, is the definition of an unspoiled gem. Home to long, untouched beaches, surrounded by jungle-clad mountains, turquoise and warm sea with incredible beaches.

The primary purpose of the position is to contribute to the overall success of the company by aligning the R&D department with the company’s overall vision and objectives; supporting the hatchery and grow-out departments with on-farm innovation through the management of scientifically sound experiments and investigations. As Research & Development Manager you would be a key part of a dynamic and passionate team that aims for excellence.

Key Performance Areas for this position includes (but are not limited to) the following:

• Coordinate, manage and support staff and resources in R&D strategies and tasks;

• Create conditions for excellent performance in the R&D department;

• Provide operational support to the hatchery and grow-out departments;

• Ensure delivery of all R&D objectives;

• Research priorities and planning;

• Research project management;

• Research sponsorship.

Requirements:

• Relevant Post Graduate Degree;

• A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in an aquaculture environment and breeding of aquatic species;

• Good managerial and communication skills;

• Advanced computer skills;

• Sound analytical abilities;

• Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and perform weekend duties;

• Fluency in English;

• Valid Drivers’ license;

• Contactable references.

Commencement: 1 June 2022 (subject to visa application process)
