POSITION INFO:

Our client, a large independent producer of wheat situated in Riebeek West, is seeking an experienced receptionist and office administrator to join the team. The incumbent will be responsible for providing efficient and professional administrative, reception and office support to ensure the smooth running of the office, accurate record keeping, professional customer interaction and efficient HR and Financial Administration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Managing the reception function (receiving and attending to guests / clients, serving refreshments, etc.)
Professional and effective operating of the switchboard and over the counter sales (including counter queries, sales, customer payments, couriers, deliveries, record keeping, etc.)
Providing administrative support – for example: Proof of deliveries: collection, file and follow-up, monthly reconciliations, Attend to printing, laminating and updating of notices and books; etc.
Office management: order office stationary and consumables, purchase groceries and ensure office is clean and tidy
Finance and cash handling: attend to over-the-counter sales; ensure proper recordkeeping and recons; manage and reconcile petty cash; load payments on bank; process weekly casual wages and basic accounting when needed
HR and time-keeping: monitor attendance and timeliness, assist with IODs submissions and follow-ups, update / maintain electronic employee files; manage employee files; etc.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

Grade 12
Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Office Administration) will be advantageous
At least two years’ relevant working experience
Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment will be advantageous
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping, cash handling and payroll processes
Computer literacy (MS Word & Excel required)
Excellent written and oral communication skills (Afrikaans and English)
Neat, professional and well-groomed appearance
Ability to work independently and always act with integrity and honesty
Team player with a positive attitude
High level of integrity and accuracy
