Quantity Surveying / Project Administration Assistant

SUMMARY:
Our client, based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking a proactive, organised and detail-oriented Quantity Surveying / Project Administration Assistant to join their team.

This role is ideal for someone with previous exposure to quantity surveying, construction administration or project administration. While a formal Quantity Surveying qualification is not required, relevant experience in a similar environment will be highly advantageous.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric.
• Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveying, Project Administration or Construction Administration role.
• Exposure to the construction or building industry will be advantageous.
• Must be well presented and professional.
• Advanced computer skills are essential, particularly Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive), electronic filing and document control.
• Fast and accurate typing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Must be energetic, intelligent, articulate, warm, confident and personable, with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to communicate kindly yet assertively when following up with site personnel and contractors.
• Must be hardworking, reliable, punctual and willing to assist wherever reasonably required.

• Assist with the administration of quantity surveying and project-related documentation.
• Gather accurate project information from site personnel and ensure records remain up to date.
• Follow up consistently on outstanding information, measurements and documentation.
• Assist with taking off measurements and capturing project quantities where required.
• Maintain project files, schedules, registers and document control systems.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets and project documentation.
• Assist with quotations, cost information and project records.
• Liaise with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors regarding project information.
• Schedule meetings and coordinate project administration where required.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete and properly filed.
• Perform general administrative duties and provide support to the project team.
• Assist with any additional administrative or operational duties as reasonably required.
