Provincial Sales Manager - Must come from Point of Sales Device Industry - Capetown

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

Manage and Develop the allocated region. Manage staff and all related activities to promote the company’s growth and image in the region. Direct responsibility for all sales activities and provincial budget.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS/PROCESSES AND OPERATIONS

SALES MANAGEMENT

1.1 Plan & carry out direct marketing activities to agreed     budgets, sales volumes, values & product types / mix

1.2 Respond to and follow up on sales and have Adhoc meetings when the need arises

1.3 Maintain and develop existing and new customer relationships and develop internal staff relationships with all areas

1.4 Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information

1.6  1.5 Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys

1.6  Maintain and report on equipment and software??

1.9  Liaise and attend meetings with corporate customers

1.10  Manage the external marketing activities required to   effectively manage the region

1.11  Attend training & develop knowledge and skills

1.12  Recruiting and training of all sales staff and associates in the Region as well as the management of their activities and sales performance.

1.13 Ensure contracts are signed correctly and the type of merchant signed up are vetted

1.14  Ensure rejections are followed up by the team

1.15 Maintaining Bidvest relationship

1.16 Prepare weekly appointments and presentations to prospective Merchants by gathering information on their needs

1.17 Closing sales by building strong relationships with merchants

1.18 Overcoming objections by ensuring correct product is sold to prospective merchants

1.19  Build a strong relationship with all internal partners to result in a great customer experience

1.20  Work closely with other departments and find opportunities to cross-sell

1.21  Work overtime if needed and be contactable over weekends.

TEAM MANAGEMENT

Be a team player and assist the team to achieve both the business objectives & strategy

2.1  Be prepared to help for the greater good of the company.

 

Education

Minimum level of formal school education required for this job to be carried out at the relevant competence level. 

 

  • Matric

 

POST SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum level of formal post school qualifications required for this job to be carried out at the relevant competence level.  

 

  • Marketing or Sales Diploma – Essential
  • Degree – Desirable

 

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

Minimum length and type of relevant experience required for this job to be carried out at a minimum level of competence

 

  • 3 to 5 years direct selling experience in a Banking & Acquiring environment.
  • 3 to 5 years sales experience
  • 1 to 3 managerial experience
  • Good product knowledge (Point of sale devices)

 

SUMMARY OF INDICATORS OF THE JOB SIZE IN THE ORGANISATION
