Procurement Agent (12 month contract)

SUMMARY:
An industry-leading company in the aviation sector is recruiting for a Procurement Agent (12 month contract), reporting to the Logistics and Procurement Manager. 

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Procurement Agent who will be responsible for executing all purchasing requirements in line with company procurement policies and procedures, ensuring that the business needs are met.

The successful candidate will ensure adherence to best practices, including quality standards, traceability, and compliance with relevant policies from order placement to delivery. The role also involves managing requirements through SAP and internal platforms while maintaining strong relationships with internal customers, subsidiaries, and vendors/suppliers.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years of solid SAP experience.
• Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proven procurement/purchasing experience within a corporate environment.
• Ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate effectively.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements (Import/Export Control, BBBEE) advantageous.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assessing and purchasing requirements, scope of work, and specifications for all material, equipment, and general supplies as per company procurement policies.
• Sourcing suppliers through RFTs/RFPs and soliciting competitive quotes from compliant suppliers.
• Negotiating and maintaining contract terms and awarding supplier contracts/purchase orders upon approval.
• Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within procurement.
• Running daily SAP reports to track, follow up, maintain delivery dates, and update internal stakeholders.
• Collaborating with planning and commercial teams to manage inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability.
• Engaging with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, delays, or issues.
• Managing and updating supplier databases, including compliance requirements.
• Conducting supplier reviews and evaluations in line with KPIs and procurement procedures.
• Managing purchase order and invoice queries.
• Maintaining accurate procurement data for audit purposes.
• Ensuring full compliance with procure-to-pay processes.
