Planning Travel Consultant Inbound

SUMMARY:
Red Ember recruitment is looking for a Planning Travel Consultant Inbound based in Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:

• Build close relationships with all Agents and the Cruise Sales Team.
  
• Include a minimum of 20% new touring options per proposal and ensure that the proposal is prepared as per agreed processes and communication around the proposal is clear, engaging, and sales-oriented.
  
• Ensuring high attention to detail is always maintained
  
• Strive towards successfully converting RFPs
  
• Prepare and design creative itineraries and proposals.
  
• Prepare excel costings.
  
• Focus on delivery excellence in customer service to agents and guests (speed to replies/accuracy/creativity/file handling).
  
• Strive towards exceeding and maximizing revenue.
  
• Applying processes: rate negotiations, negotiate terms and conditions, and book accommodation and services as required
  
• Create and update tracking documents
  
• Ensuring proficiency in that all files are quoted and operated at an acceptable margin and profit level according to the company margin strategy.
  
• Ensure VIP’s receive appropriate attention.
  
• Assist with all other reasonable requests where required.
  
• Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure.

Requirements:

• Tourism Qualification
  
• Tour consultant experience at a senior level in an inbound tour-operating environment for a minimum of 5 years.
  
• Excel experience is an advantage
  
• Creative itinerary design, quoting, and sales.
  
• Excellent relationship-building skills.
  
• Team- work and be able to work autonomously when required.
  
• Good product knowledge of Southern Africa.
  
• Good office/administration skills
  
• Understanding of on-the-ground operations and excellent quality control.
  
• Good English communication, verbal and written.
