Payroll Bookkeeper – Green point, CT – Perm – R25k p/m – Start mid-April 2022

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Excellent opportunity to join a leading supplier of fashion accessories! The Payroll Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the payroll function for various entities in the Group Structure, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
The role forms part of the Finance Department and the successful applicant must be well versed in financial functions & responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILIY
Payroll:
• Payroll processing in Sage VIP and on financial accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensures compliance with relevant statutory & regulatory authorities.
• Facilitates audits.
• Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
• Responsible for payroll-related reconciliations on financial systems
Finance:
• Bookkeeping functions for SME entities within the Group up to Trial Balance
RESULTS
Accurate and complete payroll & finance processing that is on time and meets regulatory requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
• Mature individual (35-45)
• Matric & tertiary qualification in payroll & finance and/or proven track-record of payroll & finance
• More than 10 years working experience in a payroll & finance department including processing, balancing, internal controls, and taxes.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Payroll and Finance application experience (Sage VIP & Sage Evolution experience advantageous)
• Proficiency in Office 365 – Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
• High personal values supported by strong character references
