SUMMARY:
PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

A reputable company based in Durban is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will provide essential support in payroll processing and general administrative functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all payroll-related activities.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

Must be based in Durban or surrounding areas
Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in an administrative role
Solid understanding and working knowledge of payroll processes and systems
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Excellent organisational and time management skills

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
Capture and update employee payroll information, including new appointments, terminations, salary changes, and deductions.
Verify timesheets, attendance records, and leave data to ensure correct payroll calculations.
Maintain and update payroll records and employee files in line with company policies and legislation.
Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy before final submission for payment.
Assist with the administration of statutory deductions, including UIF, PAYE, and other applicable contributions.
Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and timeous manner.
Support HR and Finance departments with payroll-related reports and documentation.
Ensure strict confidentiality of all employee and payroll information at all times.
Assist in preparing monthly payroll reports for management review.
Maintain compliance with relevant labour laws and payroll regulations.
Support general administrative duties within the HR/Finance department as required.
