Laboratory Assistant - Candidates in the Western Cape Only

POSITION INFO:

My client is seeking to employ a Laboratory Assistant to join their team in Lansdowne.

Responsibilities:

Provide assistance to the laboratory technician to perform various tasks as instructed on all raw materials and finished product

Assisting the Consultant Chemists in Research and Development tasks

Compliance: 

• Collect raw material samples as per product cards issued by production
• Assist with placing blue inspection label on material
• Assist with filing of the GRN printout
• Assist with placing green acceptance label on stored material

QC Testing:

• Assist with collecting production samples from mixers
• Assist with retaining the SABS/lab sample and storing it according to the required standards

Administration:

• Assist with filing of all documentation
• Assisting with generating COA’s and filing on ISO Doc’s

Maintenance of Laboratory and Equipment:

• Assist with calibration checks on lab equipment
• Assist with checking accuracy of production scales
• Assist with housekeeping within the laboratory

Research and Development:

• Provide assistance the Consultant chemist in all Research and Development projects
• Provide regular documentation on the progress of projects

Requirements:

• Only Candidates from the Western Cape will be considered
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Tertiary qualification in applied Chemistry
• Certification in Research and Development will be an added advantage
• 2-3 years experience as lab technician in a chemical manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of Research techniques
• Knowledge and application of GLP (Good Laboratory Practices)
• Proficient in MS Office
• 1-2 years experience in Research and Development in chemical environment
• SA Citizens
• Must be criminal clear
• EE/AA candidates only
