POSITION INFO:

About the Role: A dynamic opportunity for an LLB graduate with completed articles or equivalent corporate/commercial legal experience. This role supports the Head of Legal & Risk in contract management, insurance, claims, governance, and compliance across a leading logistics and freight management group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts (SLAs, MSAs, JV agreements, leases, finance/security agreements, NDAs).

• Support litigation, disputes, and compliance processes.

• Provide advisory input on legislation (Ports Act, maritime conventions, environmental, labour, POPIA, Companies Act, Competition Law, Tax).

• Assist with insurance programmes, risk registers, and claims administration.

• Maintain governance records, registers, and reporting documentation.

• Participate in risk committees and support operational risk management.

Requirements:

• LLB Degree (essential).

• Completed articles or corporate/commercial legal experience.

• Strong drafting and contract interpretation skills.

• Exposure to logistics/supply chain/maritime industry advantageous.

• Excellent communication, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Competencies: Commercial awareness, sound judgement, professionalism, integrity, stakeholder management, and ability to work independently while escalating appropriately.
