Junior Bookkeeper | Sage Pastel | Accounting Practice

SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for a detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join a growing accounting practice in Umhlanga. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping functions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and administrative duties while supporting senior accounting and tax professionals.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Capture and process bank statements on Sage Pastel.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare income statements and VAT reports.
• Process monthly journals as required.
• Compile management reports for review and sign-off by senior accounting staff.
• Maintain and update client filing systems and documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding client information and documentation.
• Keep daily progress reports and other relevant records up to date.
• Provide professional bookkeeping and tax-related support services.
• Assist with general administrative duties as required.

• Currently studying towards a relevant Accounting or Tax qualification, Degree, or Higher Diploma.
• 1 to 2 years' relevant bookkeeping, accounting, or tax experience.
• Proficiency in Sage Pastel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
