About the Company

Our client is an established food distribution and contract packing business based in Bartletts, Boksburg. The company purchases food and related products in bulk, repacks products according to customer requirements, and distributes nationally to feeding schemes, restaurants and other businesses.
They are looking for a Junior Accounts Clerk with practical experience in creditors, debtors and general accounts administration.
This is not a trainee position. The successful candidate should already understand the basic accounting processes involved and be comfortable working with supplier accounts, reconciliations and general financial administration.

POSITION INFO:

Junior Accounts Clerk – Creditors & Debtors

Location: Bartletts, Boksburg
Salary: R10,000 – R13,000 per month, depending on experience and proven ability
Employment: Permanent, subject to a 4-month probation period

Key Responsibilities

Creditors / Supplier Accounts

The primary focus of the position will be assisting with the management of supplier accounts, including:

Receiving and processing supplier invoices and statements
Capturing invoices and financial information accurately
Reconciling supplier statements and balances
Identifying and following up on discrepancies
Preparing supplier payment lists for approval
Following up on outstanding claims and credit notes
Maintaining accurate supplier records
Filing supplier invoices and supporting documentation
Assisting with general creditors administration

Debtors & General Accounts Administration

The successful candidate will also assist with:

Basic debtors administration
Capturing customer and account information
Basic account reconciliations
Filing and maintaining financial records
General accounts and administrative duties as required

Customer Service & Contract Packing Administration

The position will also be responsible for supporting two contract packing customers and acting as a key point of contact.
Responsibilities will include:

Acting as the first point of contact for allocated customers
Responding professionally to customer queries and requests
Liaising with internal departments including administration, production and dispatch
Gathering information internally and providing customers with accurate feedback
Printing and preparing customer-specific documentation to accompany finished goods
Assisting the dispatch team with picking and final labelling of Takealot and Amazon products when required
Ensuring customer requirements and documentation are handled accurately and timeously

Minimum Requirements

Previous practical experience in an Accounts Clerk, Creditors Clerk, Debtors Clerk or similar finance administration role
Experience with invoice capturing and processing
Experience reconciling supplier statements/accounts
Basic understanding of creditors and debtors
Good numerical ability and attention to detail
Strong administrative and filing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Pastel Partner experience would be advantageous but is not essential
Good written and spoken English
Afrikaans would be advantageous
Ideally residing in Boksburg, Benoni or surrounding areas

Salary

R10,000 – R13,000 per month, dependent on experience and demonstrated ability.
The successful candidate will undergo a 4-month probation period, commencing at an appropriate entry salary with the opportunity to progress towards the higher end of the salary range based on performance and proven capability.
Availability: Preference may be given to candidates who are available at short notice.
