WE’RE HIRING: JUNIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN 

Location: Germiston

Salary: R20 000

Our client is looking for a motivated and hands-on Junior Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This opportunity is ideal for a recently qualified Millwright or candidate with limited post-trade experience who is eager to grow their technical skills and career. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Minimum qualification in Electrical, Millwright, or Mechatronics

- Millwright Trade Test with little to no post-qualification experience

- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic functions and controls

- Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems

- Coding experience will be advantageous

- Own reliable transport

- Must reside within 30km of Driehoek, Germiston

- Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required

- Basic computer literacy

- Ability to work under pressure in a manufacturing environment

COMPUTER SKILLS

- Basic computer literacy

- Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems

- Exposure to maintenance systems and reporting tools advantageous

- Microsoft Office proficiency advantageous

- Basic understanding of fault-finding software and diagnostic tools advantageous

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Attend to electrical and mechanical breakdowns efficiently

- Conduct preventative maintenance and equipment inspections

- Assist with installation of new machinery and equipment

- Complete maintenance tasks allocated by the Maintenance Supervisor

- Ensure minimal production downtime during maintenance and line changes

- Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards

- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, and environmental procedures

- Participate in shift, overtime, and standby duties when required

- Assist with additional maintenance projects allocated by management

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Junior Maintenance Technician will support the maintenance department with fault finding, preventative maintenance, and general electrical and mechanical maintenance activities. This role is ideal for a technically minded individual who is eager to develop within a manufacturing environment while contributing to efficient plant operations and minimal downtime.
