SUMMARY:

Role Overview

A well-established engineering company is seeking a young, professional, and dynamic Internal Sales professional to manage internal sales and procurement functions. This role is central to ensuring customers receive accurate quotations, on-time deliveries, and exceptional service. It plays a key part in driving spare parts sales, maintaining strong client relationships, and bridging the gap between customer service, sales, and purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Sales

Handle incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
Prepare and send quotations according to customer requirements and technical specifications.
Follow up on quotations and convert them into confirmed sales orders.
Process orders accurately on the ERP system and ensure on-time delivery.
Provide product and technical advice to customers (training will be provided).
Maintain and update ERP records of customer interactions and sales opportunities.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Assist with spare parts identification and upsell opportunities.
Support the external sales team with pricing, customer data, and documentation.

Procurement

Source and purchase components, spares, and raw materials from approved suppliers.
Generate and issue accurate purchase orders on time.
Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely deliveries.
Maintain optimal stock levels for key spares and items.
Liaise with stores and production to ensure materials are available as needed.
Resolve supplier-related issues, pricing discrepancies, and delays.
Identify cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
A qualification in Procurement, Sales, or Supply Chain is advantageous.
3–5 years’ experience in internal sales and/or procurement within a technical or engineering environment.
Experience with pump systems, spare parts, or industrial equipment is highly advantageous.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
