SUMMARY:

Hospitality Hire is seeking a hands-on and technically skilled Hotel Maintenance Workshop Technician for a busy hotel environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving technical problems and delivering high-quality repair and maintenance work within a fast-paced hotel operation.
We are looking for a reliable and practical maintenance professional who understands the importance of operational upkeep within a hotel environment and takes pride in maintaining equipment, furniture, fixtures and facilities to a high standard.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

Valid South African ID
Technical or trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Workshop Engineering advantageous
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience within a hotel workshop or maintenance role
Previous experience within a hotel environment essential
Proven experience in workshop maintenance, repairs or fabrication
Strong knowledge of workshop tools, machinery and safety procedures
Good technical problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hotel equipment and assets
Repair, refurbish and fabricate components within the workshop
Assist with on-site repairs and maintenance tasks when required
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and durability

Workshop Operations

Operate and maintain workshop tools and machinery safely and efficiently
Inspect and test completed work to ensure reliability and performance
Maintain a clean, organised and fully functional workshop environment

Operational Support

Work closely with the Engineering and Maintenance team to support hotel operations
Assist with urgent repairs and breakdowns across guest and back-of-house areas
Ensure minimal disruption to guests during maintenance activities

Tools, Materials & Inventory

Monitor workshop tools, materials and inventory levels
Report shortages, defects and equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager
Ensure proper handling and storage of workshop equipment and materials

Health & Safety

Follow all health and safety procedures and PPE requirements
Ensure compliance with operational and safety standards at all times
Maintain a disciplined and safety-conscious approach to all tasks
