SUMMARY:
An exclusive island lodge in Mozambique's Bazaruto Archipelago is seeking an experienced and people-focused HOSPITALITY TRAINER to lead the development of its in-house trainees and team.

POSITION INFO:
This role blends structured classroom learning with hands-on, on-the-job coaching, and is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys building people up and watching them grow into confident hospitality professionals. You'll work closely with lodge management to shape a training programme that reflects real operational needs, while guiding trainees through to full qualification.

Core Criteria:

Relevant hospitality qualification
Minimum 3-5 years experience in hospitality operations, including exposure to both Front Office/Guest Services and Housekeeping
Previous experience in training, coaching, mentoring, or staff development
Proficient in Microsoft Office and training administration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese required
Training or Adult Education qualification advantageous
Experience with accredited learning programmes advantageous
Previous experience within luxury hospitality or lodge operations advantageous

Candidate Responsibilities:

Deliver a structured hospitality training curriculum through classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, and on-the-job coaching
Conduct training across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, guest experience standards, and professional communication
Monitor trainee progress and provide ongoing feedback and coaching
Assess trainee competency through practical and theoretical evaluation
Work alongside operational teams to deliver hands-on training in real work settings
Maintain accurate training records, attendance registers, and assessment results
Coordinate assessments and support trainees through to certification
Partner with lodge leadership and department heads to identify training needs and enrich course content
Coordinate guest speakers, demonstrations, and mentorship input from the management team
Support existing employees through ongoing development pathways and career growth opportunities
Foster a culture of continuous learning across the lodge
Stay current on hospitality training trends and methodologies, refining the programme over time
