HR Operations Assistant

We are looking for a strong, hands-on HR Operations Assistant to manage the day-to-day HR function within a busy construction environment. This role requires someone who is confident dealing with employees at all levels, has a strong understanding of HR and disciplinary processes, and is comfortable handling sensitive matters firmly and professionally.

• Manage the full day-to-day HR function

• Prepare and issue warnings and disciplinary documentation

• Manage disciplinary processes and ensure correct procedures are followed

• Handle CCMA matters, including preparing documentation and case files

• Assist with preparation for CCMA conciliations and arbitrations

• Ensure company HR policies and procedures are consistently adhered to

• Provide guidance to management and employees on HR-related matters

• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records

• Manage attendance, leave and general employee administration

• Identify and address HR issues proactively

• Ensure compliance with relevant labour legislation and company policies

• Previous experience in a hands-on HR Administration role

• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR practices

• Experience dealing with disciplinary processes and CCMA matters

• Ability to prepare thoroughly for CCMA cases and hearings

• Strong administrative and organisational skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Confident in dealing with employees and management

• Ability to remain calm, professional and firm when handling difficult situations

• Strong computer literacy
