POSITION INFO:
Overview:
Our client is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Financial Assistant based in Gauteng to support their dynamic finance team. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations across a group of six companies. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. This position plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records essential for budgeting and tax compliance. It is a Fixed-Term Contract until 31 July 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

Processing and releasing accounts payable invoices
Recording and managing daily bank transactions
Preparing reconciliations for creditor accounts
Creating EFT payments and managing online banking processes
Performing monthly bank reconciliations
Overseeing company credit card account activity
Following up on outstanding customer payments and responding to related queries
Investigating invoice and payment discrepancies
Assisting with internal and external audits

Requirements

At least 3 years’ experience in a financial assistant or similar role
A BCom degree or financial diploma is essential
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office applications
Experience in managing finances for multiple entities is advantageous
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-demand environment
