SUMMARY:
EXTERNAL SALES - LIGHTING INDUSTRY - CAPE TOWN

POSITION INFO:
Job Purpose

• Able to work in a team orientated environment and contribute in a positive manner.
• Ability to work independently and self-managed. 
• Always represent the company professionally. Integrity, responsibility and accountability to be always displayed, be passionate about sales, and capable of working under pressure.

• Generate new leads, through cold calling, site visits and innovative actions and creating connections
• Building, maintaining and consistently growing a strong client base.
• Upsell at every opportunity by collecting as much information about the projects and professionals involved as possible
• Source and develop prospective new clients to generate new business and optimize sales, making and reporting on the required number of cold calls
• Read drawings and extract bill quantities for lighting requirements
• Do lighting layouts /design (positioning of lights on a drawing) in accordance with the project’s requirements and industry best practices
• Do technical & architectural product specifications according to client requirements
• Communicate with clients at all stages of the project
• Submit clear quotations and proposals for current and prospective clients
• Reaching and exceeding monthly sales targets consistently
• Researching and keeping up to date with lighting trends, technology and standards
• In showroom visits, facilitation and presentation of products to existing and prospective clients
• Assist as required in the training of internal sales consultants

• Matric
• Own vehicle with a valid driver’s license
• Good communication skills
• A proved track record of selling similar products/services
• Ability to read drawings and to design and create spaces that are engaging and welcoming
• Good sales technique with previous showroom sales experience
• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans.
• Efficient in MS Office and Pastel
