Entry Clerk (Freight and E-commerce)

SUMMARY:
Our client, who offers clearing and forwarding services as well as a very exciting e-commerce platform, is on the hunt for an Entry Clerk who has experience framing entries within clearing and forwarding as well as courier (B2C). ShipShape experience is highly beneficial. Hybrid and remote opportunity available.

POSITION INFO:
We are seeking an Entry Clerk to join our clients growing South African team. The successful candidate will assist with the preparation, submission, and follow-up of customs documentation for both express (B2C) shipments and freight forwarding consignments. This role requires a strong understanding of customs regulations, attention to detail, and ideally exposure to Shipshape.

The incumbent can be Gauteng or Western Cape-based. 

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare and frame customs entries for courier, express (B2C) and freight forwarding shipments.
• Handle bulk clearances, VOCs, drawbacks, and return logistics for e-commerce parcels.
• Ensure compliance with SARS customs regulations and internal SOPs.
• Maintain accurate records of all customs documentation and transactions.
• Liaise with customs officials, clients, and internal operations teams to resolve queries.
• Assist in coordinating shipments through customs bondstores when required.
• Support the implementation of Shipshape for clearance processes.

• Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in customs clearance (express/courier and freight forwarding) non-negotiable.
• Exposure to both freight forwarding and B2C express environment.
• Knowledge of customs procedures for bulk e-commerce clearances (drawbacks, VOCs, returns).
• Experience with Shipshape software is a strong advantage (or willingness to learn quickly).
