SUMMARY:
Data Warehousing/ Data Modeler required for a project on a 12 months extendable contract.
Need someone with excellent knowledge and exposure to Star Schema (Kimball) Methodologies, who is excellent at the Architecture of designing documentation and with a mind for designing and reverse engineering.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main Requirements:

Creating a design from scratch using star schema (Kimball) methodologies
Must have a firm understanding of the grain of a fact and how it affects query joins and performance (snowflaking)
Working with and integrating ambiguous datasets
Conformed Dimensions, Surrogate keys and basic indexing standards, (Columnstore indexing added advantage)
Initial and Delta loading concepts
Architecture design documentation
Able to do data profiling and quick POC’s

Advanced:

Designing with partitioning and archiving in mind
Metadata to track data lineage
Incorporating a Data dictionary
Reverse engineering designs
Performance optimization and future Data / storage growth
