Costing & Warranty Clerk

SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established motor dealership based in Eastern Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Costing & Warranty Clerk to join their Service Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate job card costing, warranty claim administration, invoicing and ensuring that all manufacturer and internal processes are followed correctly.

• Process and accurately cost completed service and repair job cards.
• Ensure all labour, parts, sublet and sundry costs are correctly captured.
• Check job cards for completeness and accuracy before invoicing.
• Process warranty and maintenance plan claims in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Submit warranty claims timeously and follow up on outstanding claims.
• Ensure all warranty documentation and supporting information is complete.
• Liaise with technicians, service advisors, warranty administrators and management regarding costing queries.
• Verify warranty parts, labour codes and claim information.
• Process rejected or queried warranty claims and make necessary corrections.
• Ensure manufacturer warranty procedures and policies are adhered to.
• Invoice customer-pay, internal and warranty work accurately.
• Reconcile job cards and invoices.
• Monitor outstanding warranty claims and assist with resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records and filing of warranty documentation.

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Previous experience as a Costing Clerk, Warranty Clerk, Warranty Administrator or Service Department Administrator within a motor dealership.
• Automotive dealership experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of job card costing and warranty processes.
• Experience working with manufacturer warranty claims will be advantageous.
• Good numerical and administrative ability.
• Computer literate with good Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with a dealership management system such as Evolve, Automate, Autoline, Kerridge or similar will be advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
