CASH BOOK CLERK

SUMMARY:
A well-established organisation based in the Linbro Park, Sandton area is looking for an experienced Cash Book / Banking Specialist to join their Finance Team.

POSITION INFO:

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong banking, reconciliations, payments and international banking experience, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Banking

• Import bank statements from the bank into SAGE.
• Manage daily banking transactions.

Bank Reconciliations

• Perform daily reconciliations between bank statements and the ERP system.
• Process sundry bank charges.
• Follow up on outstanding receipts and payments.

Disbursements & Payments

• Check and process disbursements and prepare payments.
• Load payments onto the banking platform.
• Verify bank details for COD and international payments.
• Process relevant entries on the ERP system.
• Obtain APN from SARS for foreign advances.
• Action and follow up on all penny tests.

International Banking

• Submit Excon numbers and supporting documentation to the bank.
• Provide requested information for inward TT transactions.
• Establish Letters of Credit (LCs) and manage payments against them.

Credit Cards

• Reconcile all company credit cards.
• Investigate and follow up on outstanding items.

FEC Management

• Arrange new Forward Exchange Contracts (FECs).
• Manage payments against FECs.
• Monitor FEC expiry dates.

Banking Masterfile

• Maintain accurate banking details across banking platforms.
• Ensure compliance with POPIA and statutory requirements.

General Banking & Finance Support

• Pay out and balance pay cards at month-end.
• Collect and maintain bank data and statements.
• Monitor debit orders and automatic processing.
• Provide general assistance to the Finance Team as required.

• Strong computer literacy, particularly MS Excel, Word and Outlook
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Strong reconciliation capabilities
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Good knowledge of online banking systems
• ERP system experience, preferably SAGE
• Strong organisational and follow-up skills

🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Post-Matric qualification in Bookkeeping, Finance or a related field
• 2+ years'' experience in a similar Cash Book / Banking position
• Experience with banking platforms and ERP systems
• Practical experience with reconciliations, payments and banking processes
