Accounting Clerk

POSITION INFO:

A telecoms company based in Kempton Park is looking for an Accounting Clerk that is highly proficient and experienced in Financial Accounting and Management. This is a contract role for 3 months, with the possibility of being permanent, based on performance.

[Duties & Responsibilities]{.underline}

• Prepare financial statements and reports, including the profit and loss statement and balance sheet

• Pay invoices and maintain ledgers

• Assist with budget preparations

• Receive client invoices

• Keep track of client assets.

• Assist accountant with tax return preparation

• Code payables for accounts payable clerks to input

• Reconcile operational accounts

• Assure expenditures are in accordance with code balances for item acquisition

• Conduct invoice activities and pay vendors for delivered materials

• Provide inventory support, including maintaining office materials and supplies

• Receive requests for materials and equipment and prepare purchase orders accordingly

• Transmit purchase orders directly to vendors for purchases

• Day to day financial management up to trial balance

• Preparation and management of budgets, expenditure and forecasts

• Bank Account reconciliations

• Fixed Asset Register maintenance - capturing of new assets / disposal and depreciation in journals

• Involved high level and administration of debtors, creditors and cash book

• Prepare monthly utility and insurance reconciliations

• Related administration duties and support

[Desired Experience & Qualification]{.underline}

• 2-3 years' experience as a bookkeeper, accountanting clerk or similar

• Financial qualification -- Bachelor's Degree / BTech / Diploma

• Advanced user in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

• Advanced working proficiency Sage Accounting
