SUMMARY:
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE
Location: Newlands, Cape Town

• 3–4 years’ Business Development experience.
• Renewable Energy experience essential.
• Industrial / Commercial sector experience essential.
• Executive-level communication skills.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• Matric.
• 3–4 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales or Origination.
• Renewable Energy experience essential.
• Industrial and/or Commercial sector experience essential.
• Understanding of C&I solar PV and BESS commercial models advantageous.
• Knowledge of PPAs, leases and EPC models advantageous.
• Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and channel partners.
• Confident engaging with C-suite clients and municipal stakeholders.
• Strong executive-level communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Experience qualifying opportunities against technical and commercial criteria.
• Ability to work with project development teams on proposals, sizing and pricing.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and accurate pipeline management.
• Based in Cape Town with willingness to travel.

• Originate new solar PV and BESS opportunities across commercial, industrial and municipal markets.
• Identify, develop and qualify new business opportunities against technical and commercial criteria.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, C-suite stakeholders, municipal representatives and industry partners.
• Develop and manage a network of Business Development agents and channel partners.
• Assess site suitability, load profiles, creditworthiness and overall commercial viability of opportunities.
• Prepare and present commercial proposals in collaboration with Project Development teams.
• Work with technical teams on project sizing and pricing.
• Support negotiations of commercial terms through to signed PPAs and term sheets.
• Develop and manage the sales pipeline and maintain accurate opportunity information on the CRM.
• Collaborate with Project Development and Finance teams to progress opportunities through the development process.
• Monitor market opportunities and identify potential clients, partners and projects.
• Provide regular updates on pipeline activity, opportunities and business development performance.
