Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:

An established provider of specialised chemical solutions for the non-crop agricultural, forestry, and land management sector is seeking a dynamic Bookkeeper to be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial and related administration of the business, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. The role includes maintaining financial records, processing invoices and payments, reconciling accounts, assisting with payroll, preparing VAT submissions, liaising with customers and suppliers, and supporting the preparation of financial reports in concert with auditors. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining organised and compliant financial systems while supporting the overall financial health of the company.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree preferred)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial record keeping, VAT calculations and submissions
• Ability to prepare bank reconciliations, trial balances, and basic financial reports (including P&L); experience managing accounts for multiple entities is advantageous
• Proficiency in accounting software as well as MS Office (Excel and Word); high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently while handling confidential financial information
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans is essential
