Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing a full range of bookkeeping functions up to trial balance.

POSITION INFO:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Data Entry of invoices (QuickBooks and MDA) and credit notes into the company’s accounting system/s ensuring that the invoices are accurately captured, and VAT correctly declared.
• Municipal Schedule preparation to ensure up to date records are maintained in respect of Municipal suppliers and accurate recording of any disputes.
• Preparing documentation for approval by appropriate departments or individuals
• Scheduling payments in accordance with supplier terms and conditions and ensuring payments are made on the due date.
• Query resolution between the company and suppliers whilst maintaining positive supplier relations.
• Accurate Record Keeping through filing for audit purposes.
• Supplier Account Reconciliations monthly to identify discrepancies or outstanding invoices.
• Supplier Age Analysis reporting and ensuring this agrees to the creditor’s control account.
• Compliance and Documentation – ensuring that the company follows relevant financial regulations, particularly regarding VAT requirements and adhering to proper practices.
• Written communications between supplier and the company and accurately retaining emails and correspondence for future reference.
• Debtor administration for own portfolio e.g Leasing administration, billing and receipts/refunds The abovementioned duties may evolve and be added to as and when required, and from time to time, may involve other businesses and other work tasks and responsibilities not specific to the role. Own transport is essential.

Qualification and Requirements

• Matric/0020SDCor NQF level 4
• Diploma/ Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping
• 5+ Years bookkeeping experience. (All transactions up to TB)
• Proficient with Accounting Packages eg. Quickbooks, MDA/MRI
• Intermediate Excel Skills.
