SUMMARY:
Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.
About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position: Billing, Accounts & Bookkeeping Clerk

Stipend: R7200.00 pm

Location: Johannesburg (Midrand )

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Invoicing

Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices to clients in accordance with firm policies
Track and reconcile attorneys’ billable hours and disbursements
Liaise with legal staff to ensure proper coding and narrative formatting for invoices
Address client queries related to billing and follow up on overdue accounts

Accounts & Financial Administration

Manage accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile firm and trust bank accounts, ensuring compliance with legal accounting standards and trust account regulations
Maintain general ledger and financial records
Prepare regular financial and management reports

Bookkeeping

Record daily transactions using appropriate accounting software (Legal Practice Management Software)
Ensure correct allocation of expenses and revenue
Monitor firm budgets and assist in forecasting
Support external accountants during audits or year-end processes

Requirements

South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
Must not have participated on the programme before.
Matric
Advantageous: Diploma in Accounting.
Experience in a similar position.
