SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maintaining a safe and productive environment. This role supports the Warehouse Manager in managing staff, inventory accuracy, and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) in high-volume distribution settings.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and executing daily warehouse activities
Manage inbound receiving, storage, and outbound dispatch
Oversee workflow processes including bin management, unit picking, and processing
Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff
Allocate tasks effectively and monitor performance
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and company policies
Maintain high levels of stock accuracy
Conduct cycle counts and physical stock audits
Reconcile inventory within the WMS system
Enforce Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards
Ensure all warehouse equipment is properly maintained
Promote a safe and compliant working environment
Identify inefficiencies and operational bottlenecks
Implement process improvements and standardisation initiatives
Generate reports on warehouse performance and productivity
Track stock discrepancies and operational metrics
Provide feedback and insights to management

Requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations (preferred)
3–5 years’ experience in a warehouse or logistics leadership role
Experience in distribution or FMCG environments advantageous
Experience with ERP/WMS systems (Syspro or similar)
Valid forklift license (advantageous)
Valid driver’s license
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
