Are you an experienced credit control professional ready to take the next step into a leadership role?

POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking a dynamic Assistant Credit Control Manager to support their credit function, lead a high-performance team, and contribute to strategic decision-making within a fast-paced Shared Services environment.

This role is based in Johannesburg West Rand.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate and approve credit applications for new and existing customers within set company mandates.
Prepare detailed reports on overdue accounts, risk exposure, and bad debt provisions.
Oversee the onboarding process for new customers and provide leadership to the Key Accounts team.
Drive account rehabilitation initiatives to reduce credit risk and ensure minimal exposure.
Compile and submit month-end close-off reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct client visits to understand business requirements, resolve challenges, and strengthen relationships.
Contribute to the development of credit strategies for high-risk accounts and key customers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key account customers, ensuring service excellence and effective debt recovery.
Monitor and manage service level agreements to ensure the timely collection of outstanding debt.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

BCom Degree, Diploma in Credit Management, or Credit Management accreditation (ICM).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a credit control environment, preferably in a Team Leader or supervisory capacity, with exposure to corporate or key accounts.
Solid understanding of credit and debt recovery legislation, including the NCA, CPA, liquidation processes, and business rescue procedures.
Proven leadership ability with strong administrative, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Results-driven with the ability to manage performance, processes, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
